Ignite an Excitement

for Life-Long Learning!

Campus Cooperative Preschool (CCP) is a secular, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, parent-owned, and operated early childhood education program. Our mission is to provide a creative and intimate learning environment that allows children to feel valued while developing the cognitive, social, and emotional foundations to enable future learning success.

CCP is licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). We are a half-day preschool serving children from 2.75 to 6 years of age from 8:30am-12:00pm. The school has two classrooms: preschool and pre-kindergarten (PreK). Potty training is not required for attendance.

CCP still functions in the spirit of a cooperative where every family has a stake in the school’s daily operations. The skilled and loving staff invites the parents to share in creating their children’s preschool adventure by enhancing the curriculum through special presentations, providing administrative support through corporate Board membership, and maintaining the physical facilities through family semester projects. Families also have to option to pay additional fees instead of participating in the cooperative work of operating the preschool.

Foundation

The foundation of our child-centered, play-based curriculum is guided by the implementation of THE CREATIVE CURRICULUM FOR PRESCHOOL ®, along with an engaging creative arts program, a multifaceted social and emotional curriculum where diversity is embraced and every child feels valued and cherished.

Social Emotional

Our staff’s implementation of the curriculum embraces the emotional world of children through kind, nurturing interactions enhanced by the Nurtured Heart Approach ™ and Conscious Discipline ® methodologies helping each child develop a positive sense of self as an active learner. These positive emotional memories of early learning – last a lifetime.

Topics

A rich array of weekly topics of interest (generated by the current students’ interests) are offered in an age appropriate manner and incorporated into the play-based curriculum. The culminating event of the year is the ABC party where letters of the alphabet come alive!

Make it stand out!

  • " Campus Cooperative Preschool is a nurturing, play-based program that focuses on social emotional development. The warm group of teachers create a unique environment with an emphasis on safety, exploration, fun, and artistic expression. Preschoolers are lovingly encouraged to practice social skills like conflict resolution, empathy and self-advocacy. Our children (now in middle school) still recall special moments at CCP and our family built lasting friendships with our CCP "family".

    BRAUN FAMILY

  • "Campus Cooperative Preschool is an incredibly magical place. Every child that walks through the door is respected, loved and encouraged. The teachers (especially Miss Anna!) are endlessly patient, genuine, and above all else kind. My twin boys spent three wonderful years growing and learning about what it means to be a respectful listener, a curious questioner and a good supportive friend. They walked out the door of CCP with security and confidence, more then ready to meet life's biggest challenge!"

    BECKER-HAMILTON FAMILY

  • "A couple weeks ago when I picked up my son he said he thought he might feel "schoolsick" while he was at home (he definitely never feels homesick when he is at school!). The teachers are wonderful. The play based curriculum allows preschoolers to be preschoolers while also learning good skills to prepare to Kindergarten. The school also does a great job with social-emotional development; I can definitely see my child learning kindness/empathy and emotional regulation. Finally, the school is also great at accommodating each individual child's needs from behavioral to allergy/snack requirements".
